Holistic Death Doula

I have been in private practice since 2000, both as a Massage Therapist and an in-home caregiver to elderly and handicapped folks in. I provide psychologically sensitive, spiritually guided care for the dying utilizing holistic techniques that compliment modern medical practices.

My Story

I began my Holistic Health studies in 1999 as a student of massage and Somatic Bodywork. Many of my instructors and mentors are mental health professionals who teach advanced bodywork methods that emphasize the innate connection between body and emotions.

I accrued over 1,500 hours of training and became a certified instructor in 2002. I completed several concentrations in Somatic Bodywork practices, courses in Massage for People with Cancer, and an internship at San Diego Hospice.

Over the years I developed a special passion for hospice and end of life care, and have worked one on one with Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, cancer and dementia patients.

Death Doula at your Service

My main intention as a Death Doula is to assist in creating a safe and natural environment in which to complete the labor of dying. Together we will assess your needs and desires and build a plan for your End of Life experience that aligns with your beliefs and integrates holistic practices with western medicine. Natural remedies, plant medicine, hands on bodywork, meditations and prayer are available to balance and support the dying and their families.

At my homestead in the mountains I grow many medicinal herbs and have made remedies in the Folk Herbalism style since 2010. Many of these remedies are virtually free of side effects, safe in conjunction with pharmaceuticals, and are simple to use and integrate in your daily routine. I fully support my clients use of cannabis, CBD and entheogenic plants.
